As the
writer Phillip Slater said "individuality is rooted in the attempt to deny
the reality of human interdependence..." And having all the technology
we have today, it is undeniable that we as a society would want to be "freed"
from the necessity of being able to relate to others, to submit, to depend
upon and perhaps even in controlling other individuals. But ironic as it seems
the more we try to be succesful in this the more we feel bored, lonely, unprotected,
unnecessary, unsafe, alienated and most especially, DISCOnected and
DISCOntented...
